Computer remote control

I don't know how many of you remember PC-Anywhere - it was a software package that would allow you to log onto another pc as though you were sat in front of it. Well, there are a whole bunch of free versions now coming along. For example, we have:

TeamViewer - Free Desktop Sharing and Remote Control. This works through Firewalls, works on Macs, you can make presentations from your machine to another, share files, chat, switch direction and so on. It's free for personal, non-commercial use.

CrossLoop  which I've tried out myself. You install the software and when you want to share your machine with someone else you give them the access code (which changes every session for security purposes) and they can use your machine. CrossLoop emphasis the technical support aspect of this service, while Teamviewer is looking at collaboration.

There is also Showmypc, LogMeIn, Foxcreek Copilot, GoToAssist, Radmin, ZolvedYuuguu, UltraVNC, RealVNC, TightVNC, Avvenu. Most of them are free, though there may be a charge for commercial use.

Of course I remember -- I'm your generation!
And a bloomin' good program it was too.
