Free Email Based Project Management Software. sends emails to your team informing them of their tasks and they click a button in the email when the task is finished. It couldn't get any easier to collaborate online than this.

How does it work?

1. Create projects and assign people responsible for each task by their email address.
2. When the task is active, an email will be sent to the person responsible for that task.
3. After completing the task, they click a button in the email.
4. Rinse and repeat until entire project is finished.

Although they say it's free, it's quite limited as a result, but there are various pricing plans available.

Simple web notes. Wallwisher like application that allows you to save and share notes with other people. Free, but ad supported.

Organize Your Social Networks! is a social networking aggregator allowing you to pull your favorite social profiles into one place. Examples are Vimeo, digg, flickr, Twitter and YouTube. There are apparently more, but you have to sign up to see them.

SocialDownOrNot

Social Networks availability - uptime and down time - slow performance. Well, if there's one or two resources that do something, there'll be a whole lot more. Having found 'Downrightnow' we've now got this one, which does the same thing, only in much more detail. Many more resources, performance and availability status, current performance, today's uptime. This provides access to 20 social media resources, but again, you can't add in your own. To be honest, I still don't see the point of these things. The site is either up or it's not. You can get into it or you can't. Ask on Twitter if in doubt. How hard can it be? These just seem to answer a question that's not really being asked that much.

Way Connected

Way Connected. This is a bit like Flavors.me and Suprglu in that it's a collation of all of the information that you want to make available - addresses, phone numbers, websites, social networks and so on. It's essentially an online business card.

Popubooks, collective imagination - collaborative books

Collaborative books. Write texts, vote for others and follow you favourite books. Users write and vote contributions, top rated texts will be added to the book and so on. Sounds like a nice collaborative idea that would sit nicely in a school environment. I had a look at a few examples though and wasn't particularly impressed, but the idea looks sound.

Check the status of web services and report outages. This resource monitors the status of your favorite web services, combining user reports and official  announcements to tell you when there's service trouble.Unfortunately, unlike other sites such as Titsup and downforeveryoneorjustme this doesn't allow you to choose your own sites. You're limited to Facebook, Twitter, Ning, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Typepad, LiveJournal or Blogger. It's very unlikely that these resources are going to be down although with Facebook crashing the other night it can't be ruled out. They try and suggest reasons why we should use their site instead of Twitter etc but I'm not convinced.

Download Online Videos direct to PC, iPod, PSP, iPhone, Mobile etc.
This looks nice and simple. Just provide the resource with a URL and tel it how you want it converted - flash, audio, iphone, mpg and so on and it'll do it for you. Not tried it myself, but it looks like it does exactly what it says on the tin.
