I saw a link to: The Scotsman - Sci-Tech - How Google could become Big Brother. and the article was talking about how Google is going to do this that and the other in the next few years. Apparently 'users across the globe were busy downloading an eight minute fake documentary that illustrates the concerns users have about the rise of Google'.
Well, yes and no. It's true the documentary is available, and it's really worth watching, especially given what Google has been up to in the last few months, but I think the newspaper is a little out of date here - I wrote about this way back in February 2005 As well as the attempted scare tactics the article tells us where the term 'Google' came from, and the real inside news is that Google HQ is called 'The Googleplex'. Who'd have thought it?
