Pandia: What we want from Google this Christmas

Pandia has come up with a nice list entitled What we want from Google this Christmas. The things that they've listed include:

  • Consistent navigation
  • A better 'more' function
  • Spam reduction
  • Better bookmarking
  • Add a proximity operator
  • Get out of China.

There's a bunch of others, but from a searching point of view those are the main ones that interested me. I'd also add

  • Make your limit by date function work. Even just a little bit.
  • Cut the distinction between upper/lower case with operators - Link:www should be the same as link:www but it isn't.
  • Stop thinking that the only librarians in the world are based in the US. They're not - there's a bunch of us outside it in other places y'know.
  • Stop throwing out new stuff just because you're curious to see if we'll use it.

I could go on, but it's Christmas after all. So, in a festive spirit - many thanks for those things that DO work!
