10 Places to Find Free Images Online. is a great post from Loren Baker. He talks about the value of using images in posts and lists some places you can get images free. These are:

Flickr which is an obvious must - though of course you need to ask for permission from the owner as appropriate and take notice of the Creative Commons license.

Bigfoto is a new one to me. Seems to be a geographical  one really, with  images from the US,  Asia, Europe and so on.

Fotogenika has a wide selection of images which are free for download and non commercial use.

FreeDigitalPhotos has 2000+ free images for use in homework, blogs and non commercial work.

FreePhotosBank is another example.

FreeMediaGoo has images, audio and textures for use.

MorgueFile is one that I've mentioned before, with over 55,000 images.

PhotoRogue is a twist on the idea - if you can't find what you want, you can post to ask if someone can take a photograph of it.

SXC has over 100,000 images.

Picsearch is another good search resource.
