Ever heard of Rambler? Thought not, and that's not surprising, because it's a Russian search engine that's doing a fair bit of business. Given that it's all in Russian I can't tell you much about it, but it looks like a free text engine, with a top 100, directory offering, breaking news and so on. While it makes no sense to me (or probably you either!) it does to someone, given that it's just doubled its revenues to over $60,000,000 in 2007. It did 280 million searches in December 2007, which is great, but less than half that of Yandex which came in with 587 million searches in the same month. That's an awful lot of searching, but it's worth remembering that there are over 85 search engines for Russia which is fairly impressive!
