Country search engines and Regional Search Engines

Time to mention my Country search engines and Regional Search Engines pages again. Throughout much of January and February I spent time updating my country search engines pages. I now have over 4,000 engines listed for over 200 countries and regions, and I'm fairly confident that overall it's the largest single collection of its type on the internet. There are other collections, but they're either smaller, or duplicate search engines.

Now, what I've tried to do with this collection is to be as inclusive as possible, so the lists include yellow pages, white pages, regional resources as well as national search engines. For every country page there are also links to Flickr collections tagged by country name, references to the country in Technorati. With some countries I've added in my own country meta search engine which should save you time instead of having to go through each link in turn, and Amazon links to books about the specific country.

I have tried to ensure that I've included 'proper' search engines, rather than simple lists of links or pages of facts. Given that this is a one person operation I've tried my best to check each link, but it takes a huge amount of time. Consequently I'm not going to pretend I'm 100% correct, so if you see anything that shouldn't be in there, or indeed any engines that should be included which are not, please let me know and I'll try to include them as soon as possible. Having said that, I think it's a fairly good place to start looking for country based information, certainly if you can't find what you need by using traditional search engines. It's a very simple set of pages - it seems that simple and straightforward is often frowned on in these days of Web 2.0 design, but it seems to work well, so do please give it a shot.

Do feel free (in fact I'd really encourage you!) to link to the collection, or if you'd like to cut and paste a set of links to individual countries or regions you are welcome to download my collection of country pages by region.
