Accoona dies

As just reported by AltSearchEngines Accoona has closed. Sure enough, the following is all that remains of the website:

Accoona

I know that they'd been having difficulties and they'd pulled back a lot on the functionality they were offering, but I always found that for news search the 'Supertarget' option was always a really nice way of narrowing a search down quickly and effectively. I was never that impressed with the way that the engine was set up with regards staff who I didn't think were treated very well, so I'm not that surprised, but it's always a shame when a search engine bites the dust. Two of my favourites now gone, with ez2find having closed their doors a few months back.
