Social search engines abound these days and the latest is Artiklz which says of itself: "enables conversational search by aggregating discussions around the social media, answering the question of who, where, why, when, and what people are discussing across the social media.
Artiklz accomplishes this by providing a series of widgets which serve to aggregate and manage user generated blog or website content. The rationale is simple; Content Sharing, Rating, Review and Blogging services have become the mainstream venues for communicating and connecting publicly for a vast majority of the internet population. And Artiklz's goal is to be the centralized aggregator for this dynamic user generated content. "
The search engine aggregates the various popular web sharing/rating sites Digg, Reddit, Yahoo! Buzz, FriendFeed, Mixx, coRank, Diigo, et al in addition to the major blogging and commenting systems.
There is an advanced search option available, allowing search by date, phrase, exclusions and so on, and it's possible to limit your searches to review sites, forums, social news, blogs and so on. Results can be displayed in a variety of different ways - relevance, number of comments, date and so on.
I'm not convinced by the resource myself - I don't know quite why, but I found the interface quite cold and unfriendly, but that's an entirely personal viewpoint and you may really get on with it.
