"How do you search for videos on the Internet? If YouTube is your answer, Smivi is going to change the way you search for videos." Well, that's what the folks at Smivi would have you believe. However, I remain to be convinced. It's a nice enough search engine for video, with a number of short cuts such as "search term .date" to arrange videos in date order or .Sports to see videos from sports sites, or even .bbc.co.uk to limit to videos from the BBC site. It covers a variety of resources such as YouTube (obviously), but others as well, although they're not giving us a list, which is a shame.
There is a 'social' element to it - well, there would have to be really wouldn't there, in which you can log in and share views and comments, but to be honest, since you can do this on Facebook or YouTube itself, there's little value in it in my opinion.
Bottom line - seems to be an adequate video search engine, but nothing exciting and the USP isn't really that Unique.
