Book list comparison for good book suggestions. Register, give it 5 favourite books and it'll come up with suggestions for what else you might like. I tried it and it seemed to work fairly well. Not sure about their contention that a list of 5 books is all that they need, but there you go. Worth a quick try.

To answer your question :
1. a booklist of five books is a very clear definition of your taste & reading interest.
This is a mathematical concept : you may compare the idea to a lottery where the probability of getting 6 numbers out of 45 (1 to 8145060) lets you win millions.
the probability of similar booklists (of 5) with millions of books is way bigger than that :)

2. we have been improving on the personalizations, with tags and limiting the comparison to more recent entries only. This will take a while to get into gear, but will make the suggestions even more effective.
