Spidermarks bookmarking service

Does the world need another bookmarking service? Apparently we do, according to Spidermarks.  It does pretty much what you would expect; all your bookmarks from all your devices are merged into one collection, one click search, which includes Google, but puts your bookmarks at the top of the list, share and discover interesting sites, easily organise your collection, and it's free to use.

Normally I simply wouldn't bother to report another of these tools, but I did like the wrinkle allowing you to search Google but with your own bookmarked pages coming out on top. You can import your bookmarks into the system fairly easily, but since I'm already running on Delicious and Diigo, I think I'll give this one  a miss, but if anyone tries it - please let me know in the comments.

Listango

Is a new bookmarking platform. With Listango you can save your bookmarks online and access them from any device, anywhere. Access your bookmarks from any computer, phone or tablet. Listango works on all modern web browsers. You don’t have to share your bookmarks with the whole world. Create private lists that only you can view. Easily share your bookmarks with friends. You can share your bookmarks using Facebook, Twitter, or email.

The question really is 'why would you want to?' If you are already a bookmarking sort of person, you're using Delicious, Diigo or one of the many other alternatives. If you're not, this doesn't add in anything new that's going to make you want to start now. Nothing wrong with the tool in the slightest, but I see no value in actually using it I'm afraid. I'd love someone from Listango to point out to me exactly why it's different.

Delicious revamp - again

If you have a memory that goes back aways, you'll probably remember Delicious which is a bookmarking service. Indeed, it used to be the very best service out there, until it got sold and 'improved', at which point everyone went 'yuck' and left for services such as Diigo instead. It's now been improved from the ground up, which I take to mean 'we really screwed up big time, and thankfully we've recovered all the old code and we're putting things back they way that they were and please don't hate on us anymore.'

I took a look (having retained my account) and to be honest - yes, it's fine. It does what it should do. You can use the bookmarklet for adding stuff and you can now link your Twitter account so that you can see what other people are adding, and it has the option of bringing in your tweeted links - which I can't imagine is going to please Packrati.us very much, since while it's not going to kill them stone dead, it's going to be a pretty heavy blow to their service.

You can search for stuff, either on Delicious generally, or in your own feed, which is obviously a helpful feature. You can tag, multi tag - all the obvious stuff. And I think that's the problem with the new built up from the ground Delicious - it's not offering anything new. There's no 'wow' factor, but lets face it - that's difficult to get with a bookmarking service anyway. If you're still using Delicious I think you'll be really pleased with the changes - but if you've moved on to other services, there's nothing here that will bring you flooding back in happy droves. It's a case of 'too little, too late'.

drag discoveries This is an attractive tool. It works like a bookmarking system, but you simply create folders that look like bookmarks, and then drag what you want into them. So pictures, pages, cut and paste content and so on. Then you simply flick through the folders, or run a search to get your material back. You can also get the service to suggest content based on what you've bookmarked.

It's very neat and I like what I saw of the demonstration. However, having 2 bookmarking services as it stands (Diigo and Delicious) I'm really not in the market for another one.

A fair number of these are out there, and this looks as good as any of them.
