Link: Love Libraries. Not entirely sure how I missed out on this one, but there you go. The lovelibraries website is a campaign to get everyone excited about libraries, and how they can be made better. Love Libraries has been kick started by a group of nine British publishers who’ve been working with a charity called The Reading Agency, exploring how to get more reading to more people, through libraries.
They got together with government and the main library bodies to create The Future Libraries Partnership, a unique alliance of the public and private sectors including the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Society of Chief Librarians, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, nine British publishers and The Reading Agency.
Just one question... where's CILIP in all of this? Couldn't find a single mention of the organization on the website and I just wonder... why not?
