Wikia - Search has gathered more comment and opinion throughout the day - here's a listing of some of the recent comments:
PC World has just reported the story, without any particular comment, but leaning heavily on comments from Wales, so the general take is 'it's not good, but it'll get better. Give it a couple of years.'
Marketingpilgrim says "I’m not convinced that Wikia has a model that can be sustained, once it gets beyond the market share of, say, Ask.com." (To be honest, I'd be astonished if it ever got close to the market share of Ask!)
Business Week has a short reporting piece that's short on opinion, the most that it comes out and says is " The giant[Google] is by no means injured, but it may well be paying attention."
SearchEngineWatch commentator Deborah Richman says "I have healthy skepticism about how all these explicit social tools will get put to good use -- for search alone."
GoogleBlogoscoped is as damning as most others: "when I tried a few sample queries, I was as disappointed as everyone else."
I've just tried this search:

The results are laughable. Literally. Won't be using it again. Two years? Massive mistake to launch it in its current state.
