If you're looking for images I would strongly suggest taking a look at Tag Galaxy, which has just about the most attractive search interface that I've ever seen. It's very straightforward - input a search term and the program goes to Flickr, finds related terms and then displays them in the form of planets:
You can then click on a planet/tag that interests you and the interface creates a 'planet of pictures' for you drawn from Flickr:
If you then wish you can click on an image and see it enlarged, and can also visit the flickr page appropriate for the page. This is a thesis project from Steven Wood at the University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg, and I think it's without a doubt the best flickr visualisation tool that I've come across. Unfortunately you can't seem to limit to specific types of image or Creative Commons images, but equally you can argue that's not what it's for.
It's Friday - go and play with it for a few minutes!
