Do you remember all the fun and games that we had a while ago regarding Google's Librarian Central resource? It took a lazy summer break in June 2007, but promised that they were just taking a break, and thinking about the best ways of staying connected. Over a year passed before they posted again. They decided that their weblog wasn't the best way of staying connected with users (huh?) and decided to 'provide news, product features and other Google-related announcements through our Google Librarian Central - Newsletter' We were promised that this would be sent out every few months.
Every few months. The 'current' issue is dated July 2008. My prediction at the time was "I don't believe a word that they're saying. The weblog has become an embarrassment to them and the best way of getting librarians off their back is a) by getting rid of it and b) making a display of continuing to talk to us with a newsletter that they'll update when they feel like it. Which will be what - an annual event?"
It's looking as though I'll be proved right. Google's great at a lot of things, don't get me wrong, but talking to librarians and keeping their promises are not among their strengths.

Perhaps we no longer matter ... ?

I wouldn't take it personally...communication is not one of Google's strong points. Have seen this demonstrated in multiple google arenas.
