TweepSearch :: Twitter Profile and Bio Search. This is REALLY useful. Most resources search content on Twitter, but TweepSearch is doing something rather different - it's looking at the biography field in Twitter. There's an awful lot that you can do with this service:
Search within your followers. Start by a search for yourself, and then search your followers to see what terms they include in their biographies. Consequently this search: http://tweepsearch.com/search/Philbradley?query=librarian&commit=Search tells me (and you as well) that 396 of the people who follow me define themselves in their biographies as librarians.
This search also tells me how many users identify themselves as librarians; 6,185 in case you're interested.
location:London is a search that tells me how many people are based in London. (96,943 in case you wanted to know).
You can also simply click on an individuals avatar to limit a search to that persons followers.
Want to see how many people from Microsoft who are on Twitter? Just search for url:microsoft.com
Search options just get richer and richer... phrase searching, exclude terms, OR searches, a NEAR operator (the tilde symbol), exact term rather than variations.
Again, it's worth mentioning that you can do all of this for all of the biographies indexed so far - currently over 11,200,000, or just on your followers, or just on the followers of other people.
There are lots of Twitter search engines out there, but this one is really quite exceptional.
