Search more easily from your browser! There's a couple of extensions that you might want to take a look at, depending on the browser that you're using. If you are a Chrome user, take a look at Bookolio which is a great tool, very quick and easy to install. Once you have it, just open a new tab up, and you'll get access to a wide variety of search engines - Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, links into Facebook search, Amazon and so on. Moreover, it also allows you to see your bookmarks, recently closed pages and favorites. It's a delight to use, and since it opens for you automatically it's reminding you of the existence of other search engines. It has a number of limitations of course - some of the search engines are US based (such as Amazon) and you can't add your own, other than via a bookmark, but you can delete those you don't like.
If you're a Firefox user, you could try out a page called 'All in one' which does the same kind of thing. This gives you access to Google, Twitter, Wolfram Alpha and so on, but you can also add in your own options. While that's an obvious advantage, it's less elegant to look at.
If you're an Internet Explorer user... <SFX of tumbleweed> I'd suggest that you could use a good old fashioned start page service like Symbaloo, and if you'd like access to a collection of search engines, try my Internet Search Engines page; this does of course also work for other browsers as well.
