I prefer the new scottish CILIPS version. Check out their better strapline. What's that shade of blue they're using I wonder? ;-)

Phil, like you I actually prefer the new 'title'. As a vociferous opponent of the name change last time around, which led to me establishing my blog, I'm in favour of the change. In fact this was the name many members suggested as part of the debate.

But also, like you, I have reservations around how it has been done without wider consultation with the membership. For the moment my pitch-fork and brand will stay firmly in the cupboard but hope CILIP/LAIA don't play the 'get out of jail free' card too often!

To be honest I'm glad that I'm retiring at the end of this year. I won't renew my membership after that because why would would I want to? The organisation I joined so many years ago has long since ceased to exist and this CILIP clearly doesn't consider itself to be an organisation representing members - if it did, it would consult them.

Phil, it's the same with CILIP Update magazine, the latest issue of which just came through my letterbox.
