BMW Germany blows it

Link: Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google, and SEO � Ramping up on international webspam. Interesting weblog entry from Matt Cutts on why BMW Germany is no longer included in the Google database. Basically they were showing one page to search engines and another page to 'real' visitors to the site, which is in clear contravention of Google's rules. I've no idea why BMW Germany thought this was a sensible idea, but clearly they need to re-think their approach to search engine optimization.

Link: BBC NEWS | Technology | First impressions count for web. How long does it take for people to make up their minds about a webpage? 1 minute? 20 seconds? 5 seconds? 1 second? If you thought any of those, you'd be wrong. The BBC article says that a Canadian team have discovered that people make decisions based on a 20th of a second. Very scary indeed!
